Fantabulous Cricut - Bugs Challenge

Got another one done today! Woot! I'm on a roll! This was for the challenge at Fantabulous Cricut - a project with a bug on it. Well, this one has two! I just got the Paisley cartridge the other day, so I was excited to use it, along with Create a Critter, one of my favourites!

So much fun! I love getting to use a lot of bright colours!

The Bro's Birthday

I just hate making cards for guys. It is so difficult! I'm not thrilled with how this one turned out, but I'm not entirely disappointed either. Luckily, my bro is turning 22 and he probably won't even notice that I made it! :)

I'm hoping to get some more crafting done today, but hubby is sick. We'll see what happens!

Wacky Wednesday - Friendship

The last card of the night was for the Wacky Wednesday challenge, also at More Than Favors. The challenge was to make a friendship card. This is mine:

I used Songbird for the sentiment, Create a Critter for the birds, and Winter Woodland for the scalloped background. I had such a great night!

Cricut Cardz Challenge #87 - Hearts

My next project of the evening was for Cricut Cardz Challenge #87, which required the use of hearts without using red or pink! So, after being inspired by a few different cartridges, I came up with this:

It didn't emphasize the hearts, but they are there! I got the lilypad, the water and the sentiment from Create a Critter and the frog from Paisley. Hope the hubby likes it whenever I choose to give it to him! :)

Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge - Winter Woodland

It appears that I haven't been on here as much as I would have liked over the past week or so, and considering I'm unemployed, that's a little sad. Things have been surprisingly busy! So I was pleased that I had a night to get caught up on some challenges! First, I made a project for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #27 at More Than Favors this week, which required the use of the Winter Woodland cartridge. Having just recently acquired this cartridge, I thought this was a perfect opportunity to check it out. Here's what I came up with:

Thanks for checking it out! More to come!

Getting Cricky Challenge - Positive Projects

What a great challenge at Getting Cricky this week - to create a positive project, something encouraging and uplifting. What a great reminder for me to keep the faith during this tough time and to know that my future is in God's hands! This is what I came up with:

I've been wanting to use that monkey for a long time, and I finally got the cartridge! I'm sure there will be more to come later today!

After the Hiatus...

Hi Everyone! I feel so bad that my blog has been neglected for the past couple of weeks, but it really couldn't be helped. Shortly after my last post, I found out that my contract was ending a week earlier than expected, so I lost a number of days that I thought I had to finish up all the work I had to do. Add in a wedding, job interviews, and a sudden illness in the family resulting in a death, and I just didn't have time to stop and think, let alone blog! Now, it's all over, and I am unemployed for the foreseeable future, but I remain hopeful. And it means I have more time to craft over the next little while (though hopefully not too long!).

I made these couple of cards just the other day for two other coworkers of mine who will be greatly missed. I recently purchased a bunch of new cartridges at a wonderful sale - here in Canada, cartridges just don't come cheap, so when they go on a firesale, one must act immediately! I obtained: Freshly Picked, Forever Young, Wall Decor and More, Everyday Paper Dolls, Everyday Pop Up Cards, Create a Critter, All Sports, Songbird and Winter Woodland. I'm sure these ones in particular will be featured prominently in my upcoming projects as I explore their capabilities! I made this card with Create a Critter and Everyday Pop Up Cards:

I made this one using Simply Charmed and Everyday Pop Up Cards:

I apologize again for the unexplained hiatus! I'm sure I'll be back soon with something new to display!
